Editorial purpose
We create practical technology information for readers who want clear explanations and realistic next steps. An article should satisfy a genuine reader need; length alone is not a measure of quality.
Originality
Published articles must be original. External sources may be used for research, verification, or context, but their language and structure are not copied. Quotations are limited, attributed, and linked to the original source when practical.
Research and technical verification
Writers distinguish observation from fact. Claims that can change—such as software features, compatibility, prices, security guidance, policies, and availability—should be checked against primary or authoritative sources. Device model, operating-system version, application version, and region are stated when they materially affect instructions.
Writing and review
- Define the reader’s question and intended outcome.
- Research the subject and identify claims that require verification.
- Draft in clear English with descriptive headings and useful steps.
- Review for factual consistency, readability, originality, safety, and misleading language.
- Publish with an accurate headline, description, category, author, and update date.
Hands-on experience and limitations
When an article is based on hands-on use, it should identify the relevant environment and avoid generalizing beyond what was observed. When direct testing was not performed, the article should not imply otherwise.
Artificial intelligence tools
Technology may assist with outlining, language review, or production tasks, but publication still requires editorial responsibility. Unsupported claims, fabricated experience, invented quotations, and false sources are prohibited regardless of the tool used.
Commercial independence
Advertising and partnership considerations are separated from factual review. Advertisers do not receive a right to approve editorial conclusions. Sponsored material and material commercial relationships are disclosed when required.
Corrections and updates
Substantive errors are corrected when confirmed. Articles may be updated when software, devices, standards, policies, or evidence change. Readers can report an issue through the Contact page.
Author identity
Articles are assigned to a WordPress author profile with a visible byline and biography. Pen names may be used for editorial consistency, but biographies must not invent credentials, employers, awards, certifications, or testing experience.
